This CPD by Wetroom Materials explores the design and mechanics of wet rooms, addressing issues of working in spaces with natural materials.
This CPD addresses the design of wet rooms, and encompasses detailed specification considerations such as the type of tanking used, positioning of the drain and slope, and matters such as gradients and floor build up. The course focuses upon understanding the mechanics of wet rooms, so that suitable drainage depths, tiling weights, and slope gradients, can be calculated. It also explores issues such as working in spaces that have existing natural materials, such as wood or stone.
Wet rooms are hygienic, easily accessible, and practical. As such, they are being installed everywhere from domestic residences, to hotels and hospitals. Wet Room Materials focus on the science - both in terms of the mechanics of the visual and functional aesthetics. With a governing philosophy of Scandinavian design, the focus will draw on designing with simplicity and functionality.
