Kays paintings are aimed at inspiring and uplifting people and the settings they are placed in. Based on a pollyanna mindset that anything is possible. Her paintings are hum-ing with dreamy colours and imaginary landscapes. Since graduating from Byam Shaw School of Art in London in 2000 Kay has worked and exhibited in Europe and is now based in the UK. All the paintings are oil on linen, museum-quality, and range in sizes. Her work can also be commissioned and likes to work closely with clients to reach the desired goals. Her new work is inspired by natural beauty and is keen to work with the environment in mind, collecting salvaged materials for ideas and long daily walks in the countryside with her dog are influencing and shaping the paintings. Picking up on the magical atmospheric richness of a dense green mossy wood that echoes with squirrels trampolining from tree branches and the occasional sighting of deer with their young. All of this is absorbed and then translated onto a blank canvas that is sometimes worked on for months.
